Compassionate Birth Doula Services in Dallas

So, what is a birth doula?

A birth doula, like Samantha Clay, provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. Unlike your medical team, a doula does not provide medical care. Instead, we work alongside your healthcare providers to offer compassionate pregnancy care and support you in having a positive and informed birth experience.

At Sisters at Heart, our Dallas birth support includes:

- Prenatal support and childbirth education to help you understand your options and prepare for labor and birth.

- Comfort measures during labor, including positioning, movement, massage, breathing techniques, rebozo techniques, and other hands-on support.

- Emotional reassurance and encouragement when labor becomes challenging or overwhelming.

- Partner support and guidance, helping your partner feel confident and involved rather than taking their place.

- Advocacy and informational support, helping you understand your options so you can communicate your wishes with your care team.

- Immediate postpartum support after birth as you settle in, bond with your baby, and begin your transition into parenthood.

Every birth is different, which is why our support is personalized to your needs, preferences, and circumstances. Whether you're preparing for your first birth or welcoming another baby, Sisters at Heart is here to help you feel supported, informed, and never alone.

Samantha Clay

Samantha Clay is a DONA International–Certified Birth Doula based in Dallas, Texas, dedicated to providing compassionate pregnancy care and supporting families through the journey of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period with evidence-informed practices. Her path into birth work was influenced by a lifelong aspiration to become a nurse, as well as her personal experiences navigating pregnancy and birth, both with and without the support of a doula. A history of pregnancy loss fueled her passion for being a steady, informed presence during these sensitive transitions in life.

Samantha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education Administration and combines this formal education with her experiences as a mother of four. She prides herself on offering nonjudgmental, family-centered care, with a particular focus on providing Dallas birth support for families planning a VBAC. Additionally, Samantha has developed a strong interest in lactation support and actively seeks to further her education in this area to better assist families during the postpartum period.

Families frequently express their appreciation for Samantha’s relatable, humorous nature, making it easy to connect with her during moments that may feel intense or overwhelming. Her background as an Army veteran enhances her calm, steady presence and equips her to advocate confidently for families in medical settings. Beyond her work as a doula, she is a devoted mother, entrepreneur, and caregiver who prioritizes balance, growth, and intentional living. These personal experiences deeply inform her approach, ensuring she is present, patient, and profoundly respectful of each family’s unique journey.
